Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Meina Tech LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Georgia, United States ("Meina Tech", "we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses, discloses and retains personal information in connection with the Taskvale mobile applications, the taskvale.app website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Meina Tech is the controller of the personal information described in this Policy. For all matters arising under this Policy, including requests to exercise the rights described in Section 14, contact support@taskvale.app.
1. Scope and summary of practices
1.1 This Policy applies to all users of the Service.
1.2 Meina Tech does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, does not serve advertising, does not employ advertising identifiers, and does not integrate third-party analytics software within the Application.
1.3 Task data created within the Application is stored locally on the user's device and is not transmitted to Meina Tech unless the user affirmatively enables the Backup & Sync feature described in Section 4.
1.4 The Application transmits diagnostic reports upon software faults as described in Section 6. Such reports do not include the text of user tasks or notes.
2. Definitions
"Application" means the Taskvale software application for iOS or Android. "Content" means data entered or stored by a user through the Service, including tasks, lists, notes, due dates, reminders and completion history. "Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with an identified or identifiable natural person. "Processing" has the meaning given under applicable data protection law.
3. Information stored on the user's device
3.1 The following are stored locally on the device and are not transmitted to Meina Tech except as expressly provided in this Policy: Content; the user's first name, where supplied; and application settings and preferences.
3.2 Local data is removed upon deletion of the Application from the device.
4. Backup & Sync (optional)
4.1 Backup & Sync is disabled by default and operates only where the user creates an account and affirmatively enables the feature.
4.2 Where enabled, Meina Tech processes: (a) Content, for the purpose of storing it and replicating it across the user's devices; and (b) the user's email address, for the purposes of authentication and account administration.
4.3 Where Backup & Sync is enabled, Meina Tech additionally records, for each platform from which the account synchronises, the operating platform (iOS or Android), the application version, and the time of the most recent synchronisation. This record contains no device identifier of the kind described in Section 6.3, and is limited to one entry per platform per account.
4.4 Where a user authenticates using Sign in with Apple and elects to conceal the associated address, Meina Tech receives only the relay address issued by Apple.
5. Purchases
5.1 Payments are processed exclusively by Apple or Google. Meina Tech does not collect, receive, process or store payment card details or other payment instrument information.
5.2 Meina Tech's purchase infrastructure provider receives purchase and subscription status, and, where the user is authenticated, the associated account identifier, for the sole purpose of determining entitlement to paid features.
6. Diagnostic and crash reporting
6.1 Upon a software fault, the Application transmits a diagnostic report comprising: the classification and location of the fault within the Application; the associated error message and technical stack trace; application version and build identifier; operating system version; device model; operating platform (iOS or Android); a device identifier as described in Section 6.3; and, where the user is authenticated, the account identifier.
6.2 Diagnostic reports do not include the text of tasks or notes. Email addresses are removed from report content prior to storage. Reports are generated only upon a fault and do not constitute continuous or behavioural telemetry.
6.3 The Application assigns each installation a device identifier. It is used solely to associate multiple diagnostic reports originating from the same installation, so that a recurring fault can be recognised as recurring.
The identifier is a random value generated by the Application itself upon installation and stored on the device. It is not assigned by Apple or Google, is not derived from any hardware characteristic, advertising identifier or account identifier, and is not accessible to any other application. It does not persist following removal of the Application; a subsequent installation is assigned a new value, and the earlier value cannot be linked to it.
Because the identifier is assigned per installation, reports originating from two separate devices carry two distinct identifiers and can be distinguished from one another. It cannot, however, be used to recognise a device across applications, across reinstallations, or by any party other than Meina Tech.
6.4 Diagnostic reports are processed solely for the purposes of diagnosing faults, maintaining service integrity and improving software reliability. They are not used for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
7. Additional processing activities
7.1 Voice input. Where a user dictates task content, speech recognition is performed by the operating system of the device. On iOS, audio may be transmitted to and processed by Apple in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. Text- to-speech output is generated locally on the device.
7.2 Electronic communications. Where a user submits an email address to the launch list, or elects to receive product communications, that address is processed for the purpose of sending such communications. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by contacting Meina Tech or by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in each message. Transactional messages relating to a user's account, including authentication codes, are not marketing communications and are sent as necessary to provide the Service.
7.3 Website. taskvale.app records aggregate page-view counts without cookies and without information identifying the visitor. Information submitted through a website form is received by Meina Tech.
